The people of Ini Local Government Area have assured that all votes from the Area will be delivered intact during the 2027 general elections.
The people gave the assurance during the inauguration of Ini Chapter Executive alongside the Advisory Council of the ARISE with Renewed Hope Initiative at Ini Council Headquarters, Odoro Ikpe on Thursday, drawing stakeholders, political leaders and supporters of the Movement from across the Local Government Area.
Speaking at the event, the President General of the ARISE with Renewed Hope Initiative, Engr. Uwem Okoko, assured that the overwhelming message of confidence, support and commitment to the re-election of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Senate President Godswill Akpabio and Governor Umo Eno would be conveyed to the appropriate quarters. He commended the people of Ini for their unity of purpose and sustained support for the trio.
Engr. Okoko also presented empowerment funds donated by the Chairman of Ini Local Government Council to selected beneficiaries, praising the initiative as a strategic effort to improve the livelihoods of the people. He urged beneficiaries to make judicious use of the funds for their economic advancement.
Setting the tone for the inauguration, the Deputy International Coordinator II, Aniekan Uko, described the Movement as a brainchild of the Governor, stressing that the constitution of the Chapter Executive and Advisory Council was both timely and necessary. He noted that political divisions were gradually giving way to unity, as members of different political parties now collaborate for the collective good of Akwa Ibom State.
In his welcome remarks, the Chairman of Ini Local Government Area, Amb. Inibehe Umah, announced a ₦120 million U-Rise, We-Rise empowerment scheme for selected indigenes, with six beneficiaries receiving ₦250,000 while others got ₦500,000 each. He expressed optimism that the initiative would boost economic activities within the area.
Accepting his role as Coordinator of the Chapter Executive, Amb. Umah assured that Ini LGA will record a resounding success in the forthcoming elections, likewise, the Chairman of the Advisory Council, Prof. Ini Udoka, who pledged that the Council would provide strategic guidance to ensure the success of the Movement.
In a strong show of support, the Representative of Ikono/Ini Federal Constituency, Emmanuel Ukpong-Udo declared that, “because of the Governor and the Senate President, all votes in Ini LGA will be delivered intact,” emphasising that electoral victories would be determined through the ballot and not by appointment.
Other speakers, including the Member representing Ini State Constituency, Lawrence Udoide; Mr. Samuel Offor, who represented the Commissioner for Agriculture; Comrade Charles for the youth; International Women’s Coordinator, Glory Edet and Dr. Eme Esiere for the women, all expressed confidence in the Movement and pledged their commitment to its objectives.
