CPS Ekerete Udoh Commends COOPA, Backs Uyo Social Media Week Initiative


The Chief Press Secretary to the Akwa Ibom State Governor, Mr. Ekerete Udoh has commended the Conference of Online Publishers in Akwa Ibom State (COOPA) for its professionalism and continued support of Governor Umo Eno’s ARISE Agenda, describing the group as a vital partner in promoting the Akwa Ibom brand.

Mr. Udoh gave the commendation today when he received a delegation of COOPA members in his Uyo home, ahead of the forthcoming Uyo Social Media Week 2025, scheduled to hold from November 19–21, 2025 at Ceedapeg Hotel and Suites, Ewet Housing Estate.

The CPS, who noted that the majority of COOPA members have “invested in the Akwa Ibom exceptionalism,” expressed appreciation for their responsible reportage and active role in amplifying government programmes and policies. 

He encouraged the group to sustain its reputation for credible digital journalism while using the Social Media Week as a platform to promote innovation, creativity, and civic engagement.

Earlier, COOPA Chancellor, Mr. Utitofon Morgan, thanked Mr. Udoh for his consistent support, describing him as one of the earliest believers in COOPA’s vision of responsible publishing. He assured that the group remains committed to using digital media to tell the Akwa Ibom story positively and professionally.

The Uyo Social Media Week 2025 will feature high-level discussions, masterclasses, and networking sessions focused on “Amplifying Local Voices Through Digital Innovation”.

The meeting had in attendance, Akwa Ibom State Governor New Media aides - Mr. Kufre Ekpoh and Mr. Richard Okon; Chairman, Uyo Social Media Week Planning Committee and Publisher of Ibom Telegraph, Mr. Darlington Udobong and Ms. Mercy Ani, Publisher of UyoTube.
