Olamide broke a record in 2024 on Spotify with his unexpected release of "Ikigai," a digital music platform.

The numerous award-winning rapper and music mogul Olamide, better known by his stage name Baddo, broke the record for all Nigerian projects launched on Spotify in 2024 with his unexpected release.

"Ikigai Vol. 1" features seven excellent tracks, each providing a unique auditory experience. Olamide exhibits his flexibility by deftly fusing rap, soulful melodies, and Afrobeats elements to create an incredible auditory experience.

The EP's title, which alludes to the Japanese idea of "a reason for living," makes us excited to see where Olamide's Ikigai/ 生き甲斐 will take the project in the future. Fans greeted the project's release with great enthusiasm as it became the 2024 Nigerian project with the most streams in the first 24 hours of its release on Spotify.

In the first full day of tracking, Ikigai became the most played Nigerian project of 2024 with over 1.8 million plays on Spotify alone. On its first day of release, the album also racked up 3 million streams on Audiomack and 1.1 million streams on Boomplay Music.
