As work continues at The Raffia City Christmas Village and momentum gathers, the central organizing planning committee recently paid a courtesy visit to the progenitor of The Ibom Christmas Celebration, Rt. Hon. Orman Esin, The Commissioner for Culture and Tourism to tap from his wealth of experience.
The Hon. Commissioner, applauded and appreciated the Executive Chairman of Ikot Ekpene LGA Obong (Hon.) Unyime Etim for toeing this path to promote the tourism sector.
He shared his experiences in hosting the festival for three years and promised to support The Raffia City Christmas Village.
He further reiterated that tourism is vital for the success of many economies around the world, with several benefits to host destinations as it boosts the revenue of the economy, creates thousands of jobs, develops the infrastructures of a community, and plants a sense of cultural exchange between foreigners and citizens.
The Raffia City Christmas Village is scheduled to hold between December 1st, 2022, to January 1, 2023, at The Cenotaph, opposite Nteps shopping Mall and the new Council Secretariat Library Avenue, Ikot Ekpene, to provide recreation, promote culture, tourism, and boost Small and Medium Scale Enterprises.
The Raffia City Christmas Village is powered by Ikot Ekpene L.G.A in collaboration with Keskan Nigeria Ltd.
It can only get bigger and better.
