International Day of the Girl Child is observed annually on October 11. Declared by the United Nations General Assembly in 2011, this global day raises awareness of gender inequality, advocates for girls' human rights, and highlights unique challenges faced by girls worldwide, such as education access, child marriage, and discrimination.
Following this development, Face of Valentine Pageant International in partnership with Adiahaobong Foundation is set to organize the 3rd edition of her annual Girl Child Conference to commemorate with International Day of the Girl Child 2026.
Unveiling the project to members of the press on Saturday 29th August, 2026, the program director and CEO of Face of Valentine Pageant International, Comr. Mfonobong Robson popularly known as Legendary Xbeef, said that the Girl Child Conference is an annual event that empowers young girls by providing them a platform to engage with experts, global leaders, civil society organizations, public and private institutions, and diplomatic missions.
This unique gathering will facilitate discussions on the challenges faced by girls while fostering the exchange of actionable strategies to empower and advocate for their rights and well-being.
According to him, the event is also focused on creating a transformative platform to drive collective action towards advancing the health, empowerment, and rights of girls. At the conference, we aim to catalyze actionable initiatives, policy changes, and partnerships to ensure girls have the opportunities, supports, and resources to thrive and fulfil their potentials.
While addressing members of the press during her welcome remark, Face of Valentine International Queen Cyndy, real name Blessing Udoh said that the event is organized to empower female entrepreneurs with start-up grants, connect girls with global leaders, train them to solve community problems, and push for policy changes.
Scheduled for October, Girl Child Conference 2026 with the theme: “Empowering Her Future: Building Resilience & Breaking Barriers” will serve as a beacon of hope and opportunity in a nation teeming with potential.
As part of activities to mark the international day of the girl child, a novelty football match will be organized to mobilize female youths from the grassroots to participate in the event.

In addition, the conference will give the girl child a sense of belonging as they dream to become responsible personalities while changing and impacting their immediate communities positively by rendering community and humanitarian services in line with the A.R.I.S.E agenda of his Excellency, Pastor Umo Bassey Eno, PhD.
Undoubtedly, the conference will promote Social and Economic empowerment of the Girl Child through cross-cutting policies as well as creating awareness about their fundamental human rights and rights to Education while facilitating institutional and legislative support, enabling them to realize and develop their full potential.
Mfonobong Robson added that “Girl Child of the Year” Award will be given to who deserves it and will be on merit.
