The Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Entertainment, Mr. David Sergeant, popularly known as Utang Akwa Ibom, on Friday warmly welcomed veteran Nollywood actor and celebrated filmmaker, Jim Iyke, to Akwa Ibom State.
Jim Iyke arrived in the state on the auspices of entertainment loving lawmaker, Hon. Sampson Idiong, in what observers describe as another positive signal of the state's growing relevance within Nigeria's entertainment and tourism space.
Among dignitaries present to receive the actor were the Akwa Ibom State Commissioner, Capt. Iniobong Ekong, and the Special Assistant to the Governor on Entertainment, Godfada Uko.
Speaking during the reception, Utang Akwa Ibom noted that the visit of the renowned actor further highlights Akwa Ibom's increasing appeal as a destination for entertainment,film making, tourism and investment opportunities.
He expressed optimism that the actor's visit would create valuable engagements and further strengthen the state's expanding profile within the creative industry.
Akwa Ibom State has continued to position itself as a vibrant hub for arts, culture and entertainment, with growing efforts aimed at attracting industry stakeholders and creating opportunities within the creative ecosystem.
Jim Iyke remains one of Nollywood's most recognizable faces, with a successful career spanning decades in acting and film production.
