A senior police officer identified as CSP Chairman Dore was reportedly involved in a ghastly motor accident along the Uyo–Ikot Ekpene Expressway on Monday, March 9, 2026, at about 5:20 p.m.
According to reports, the officer, who currently serves as the Camp Commandant at the State Police Headquarters, Uyo, was returning from duty when a motorcyclist allegedly rammed into his moving Toyota Corolla at IDH Junction along Uyo Road in Ikot Ekpene.
The motorcyclist, later identified as Late Augustine Victor Uduaka, 45 years old, from Abiakpo Ikot Essien in Ikot Ekpene Local Government Area, sustained severe injuries in the crash.
Both parties were rushed to the General Hospital, Ikot Ekpene for medical attention. Despite several efforts by medical personnel to revive him, the motorcycle rider sadly passed away the following day.
Meanwhile, CSP Chairman Dore, who was reportedly involved in the accident, is a seasoned police officer who has served the state in various capacities. Over the years, he has served as Divisional Police Officer (DPO) in several divisions including Urueffong Oruko, Etim Ekpo, Ikono, Ibiono, and Essien Udim ( The Senate President's home Division) before his current posting as Camp Commandant at the State Police Headquarters in Uyo.
Further details about the incident are still emerging as authorities continue their investigation regarding the crash.
