Stakeholders from Akwa Ibom South Senatorial District on Sunday adopted President Bola Tinubu, Senator Godswill Akpabio and Governor Umo Eno as Sole Candidates for the 2027 general elections.
At a well attended meeting at the Eket City Hall which included the Akwa Ibom State Deputy Governor, Senator Akon Eyakenyi, former Deputy Governor's from the Senatorial District, State Chairman of the APC along with all Executive of the Party from the area,All National Assembly members, House of Assembly members, all 12 Local Government Council Chairmen, Vice Chairmen, Councillors, Supervisors, Commissioners and political Appointees unanimously adopted President Bola Tinubu, Governor Umo Eno and extended their support to Senator Godswill Akpabio under the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC) at the polls next year.
They declared that Eket Senatorial District was speaking with one voice in unity for the progress of the area along the commendable legacies of the reforms of President Bola Tinubu and the success of the ARISE Agenda of Governor Umo Eno.
They declared that their support for Senator Godswill Akpabio is in line with the love President Bola Tinubu has bestowed in trust given to him leading the 10th Senate successfully and his return to continue as Senate President from 2027-2031.
There were no dissenting voices at the packed venue of the meeting as every stakeholder expressed satisfaction with the resolutions reached.
A significant milestone was also achieved with the unanimous adoption of Chief Assam Assam,SAN as the APC Political Leader for Eket Senatorial District which was unanimously and overwhelmingly adopted by everyone.
Chief Assam Assam,SAN is the Director General of the campaign for Governor Umo Eno administration and has served in the Akwa Ibom State Executive Council at a time and further served as Ambassador to Russia and Belarus.
Stakeholders also unanimously declared that the seat for the Senate for the area be open to interested candidates but zoned to persons from Ikot Abasi Federal Constituency, apparently rejecting Senator Ekong Sampson for a second term
