SS2 student, Jacinta Lawrence Andrew, has been honoured by the National Sports Commission with a ₦3 million cash reward after being named the Outstanding Junior Athlete of 2025.
The presentation was held at her school, Community Secondary Commercial School, Ibiaku Itam, in Itu Local Government Area of Akwa Ibom State.
Jacinta received the recognition following her impressive performances on the international stage, where she won a silver medal in the 400 metres at the African School Games in Algeria and later claimed gold in the same event at the African Youth Games in Angola.
She also recently helped Nigeria secure qualification for the World Athletics Relays, further highlighting her rising profile in athletics.
