Black Sherif Reveals Official Release Date of First Song of 2026

Black Sherif confirms Official Release Date of First Song of 2026

Ghanaian superstar Black Sherif has formally revealed the release date for his first song and music video of 2026, following a time of self-reflection and introspection following a stratospheric climb.

The hitmaker of "Kweku The Traveler" disclosed that his new project will be arriving this Friday at 5:57 AM in a very private and intimate statement posted on his Substack.
The announcement was a manifesto, not just a date. Sherif reflected on the "hurdles and sleepless nights" that characterized his early career in a letter to his followers.

He talked about the emotional toll that his journey took, from being told at the age of 17 that his voice "wasn't good enough" to selling out two consecutive nights in London and playing to a stadium full of over 20,000 people.

"Nothing was handed to us," Sherif wrote. "We worked late nights into early mornings... It took time to realize these stab wounds had to happen for us to realize how great we were to become."

A rare look into the artist's personal life was also provided by the statement, which mentioned late-night journeys taken "just to feel human again" and mornings spent on the balcony of his first home. Sherif gave appreciation to his longtime partner Obala, remembering their time spent fixing broken phone displays before to the publicity and cameras.

Sherif discussed how his music has been influenced by his personal struggles and legal battles, highlighting in particular the resolution of a protracted lawsuit that made his mother cry. He said, "No one in their right minds would still be here," underscoring the mental toughness needed to remain at the top of the Afrobeats industry.
The first chapter of Sherif's 2026 period won't be long away for fans. This Friday at 5:57 AM, the new song and its accompanying music video will be released ("Top of the Morning").
