It's no news that Akwa Ibom sons and daughters are rising to the fate of greatness to change the narrative that Akwa Ibom youths are lazy and Matthew Matthew, a true song of the soil, a native of Abak Ifia Village in Ikot Ekpene local government area is one of them.
However, it can be recalled that in 2025, Matthew Matthew made an attempt to break Guinness World Records where he trekked from Akwa Ibom to Abuja to meet with the President of the Senate, Chief Godswil Obot Akpabio and other Akwa Ibom sons and daughters in the senate and national assembly with the purpose of celebrating the Senate President for his legacy in environmental development & state building according to his antecedent as Governor, Minister and a 2 time Senator of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
The campaign was also designed to appeal to the federal government through the National Assembly for Environmental cleaning of Nigeria with focus on waste management across the 36 states of the federation.
In a media chat with the press, Matthew added that the "Walk-Athon Project 102" is designed to tour the 31 local government areas, honor, celebrate & support the Arise Agenda of Pastor Umo Bassey Eno (Ph.d) for "Unity and Development" in Akwa Ibom State.
Following his announcement to embark on the project with the theme: "Arise for the Unity and Development of Akwa Ibom State", Matthew is set to break another record putting Akwa Ibom on the global map.
"Walk-Athon Project 102" is scheduled as follows:
