The Akwa Ibom State Government has reaffirmed its commitment to showcasing the State’s rich cultural heritage and promoting tourism through the hosting of another mega event this December.
The Commissioner for Culture and Tourism, Dr. Anieti Udofia, made this known during an appearance on ARISE Update on AKBC-TV, where he spoke extensively about the forthcoming Christmas Unplugged and Carols 2025 celebration.
Dr. Udofia commended Governor Pastor Umo Eno for driving the transformation of the tourism sector under the ARISE Agenda, noting that this year’s edition , Christmas Unplugged 3.0 will feature a variety of engaging activities designed to attract both local and international visitors.
According to the Commissioner, the event will include a major concert featuring global artistes, while the State Christmas Carol celebration is scheduled for December 19. He further disclosed that Christmas Unplugged 3.0 will run from December 1, 2025, to January 1, 2026, featuring highlights such as a children’s party, a village square showcasing local artistry, and exhibitions of indigenous arts and crafts.
“We’re introducing a range of new and exciting features to make this year’s edition truly exceptional,” Dr. Udofia assured.
