In a major breakthrough for Nigeria’s education sector, the First Lady, Her Excellency Senator Oluremi Tinubu, has secured the active partnership of the Qatar Foundation to support the Federal Government’s efforts in educating Almajiri and over 15 million out-of-school children across the country.
During her meeting with the Founder and Chairperson of the Qatar Foundation, Her Highness Sheikha Moza Bint Nasser Al-Missned, in Doha, the Foundation pledged full collaboration with Nigeria’s Ministry of Education to implement a transformative schooling model.
The new model will integrate both Islamic and formal education, providing safe, well-equipped environments featuring boarding facilities, mosques, and skill acquisition centres.
Sheikha Moza further assured that the Qatar Foundation would assist in training teachers and handlers for the new schools, ensuring quality education delivery and sustainability of the initiative.
This partnership marks a historic step toward ending the out-of-school crisis and empowering millions of Nigerian children with knowledge and skills for a brighter future.
