Shatta Wale’s partner Maali Speaks Out Following his release from EOCO Custody

Shatta Wale’s partner Maali Speaks Out Following his release from EOCO Custody

Maali, the partner of the embattled dancehall star Shatta Wale, has addressed the ongoing controversy involving the musician and the Economic and Organised CrimeOffice (EOCO) regarding his purchase of a yellow Lamborghini Urus. In the United States, the luxury vehicle is associated with a fraud case worth US$4 million involving Ghanaian national Nana Kwabena Amuah, who is presently incarcerated there.

Maali, who has a child with Shatta Wale, took to Snapchat to assert the singer's innocence and express her confidence that he would overcome the allegations against him. She emphasized that his belongings were due to both resolve and divine favor.

“False rumours can’t wash away true blessings”

“My man is proof that hard work and grace speak louder than sabotage. You can throw dirt on his name, but you can’t bury a man God has already lifted”

As part of ongoing investigations into financial irregularities related to the Lamborghini, which was seized earlier this month during an international probe into alleged fraud, Shatta Wale was detained by EOCO on Wednesday, August 20.

EOCO confirmed in an official statement that the detention is directly connected to the Lamborghini Urus, a 2019 model identified by both the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) and the United States Department of Justice as one of the assets linked to Amuah’s $4 million scheme.

EOCO disclosed that Shatta Wale has not been able to furnish verifiable information about the seller from whom he purchased the vehicle. He allegedly informed investigators that he acquired the vehicle “from the street,” purportedly through someone named “Zak” who reached out to him on WhatsApp. The artist has, however, acknowledged that he no longer possesses the seller's contact information.
