G12 Visits Commissioner for Environment and Mineral Resources, Calls for Grassroots Development

In a bid to create more awareness and to extend its tentacles, a socio-political group; G12 yesterday, 15th April, 2025 visited the honourable commissioner of Environment and Natural resources; Rt. Hon. Nsikak Ekong in his country home. 

The visit which was facilitated by the team leader, Comr. Israel Robert had members of the group in their numbers in attendance. 

While introducing coordinators of the group in different wards, Comr. Robert thanked the honourable commissioner for the privilege given to the group for the visit to be successful. 

He later briefed the commissioner on live touching projects yet to be executed by the group in which with the help of the executive chairman; Elder Aniefiok Nkom, will come to reality. 

While commending the honourable commissioner for his kindness over the past few years for the good people of Ikot Ekpene local government area, the coordinator of the group in Ward 2, Mrs Uyai-Abasi thanked the commissioner for always supporting the people of the area and for choosing to be the Messiah of our time. 

She used the privilege to thank his excellency, Pastor Umo Eno for appointing their own son, Rt. Hon. Nsikak Ekong to serve as Honourable Commissioner for Environment and Natural Resources in his cabinet. 

She later added that as a group, there are some problems that needs the intervention of government ranging from human development, empowerment and business grants for business owners and pleaded that the honourable commissioner should in his benevolent kindly speak on their behalf whenever he meets with the governor while discussing the affairs of Ikot Ekpene local government area. 


Another member of the group when given the opportunity to speak, added that the group came to thank him for all he has done since when he was serving in the national assembly and said that if the group is looked into in the area of empowerment and supports, the group intends to have its chapters in the 12 local government of the senatorial district. 

Lastly, he thanked the commissioner for running an open door policy in his government and pleaded that the group looks forward to have an interactive session with his excellency, Pastor Umo Eno through the help of the commissioner. 

While responding to the yearnings of the group, Rt. Hon. Niskak Ekong assured the group of his unwavering supports and added that the divedence of his administration will get to everyone.


In his words: "When you have good people around you, you will be a good person, and when you have bad people around, you will be influenced by their bad behaviors."

He also added that Pastor Umo Eno is the best governor that can ever happen to Akwa Ibom State.

He later urged members of the group to remain calm and be patience that his administration will touch everyone and added that on thursday 17th April, 2025, the group should show capacity by proofing its membership strength. 

Also in attendance at the visit was the chief whip of the 8th Assembly of Ikot Ekpene legislative council and BOT member; Hon. Matthew Inyang.
