Mista Xto bagged "Artiste of the Year" at Premium FM Colloquium and Awards

Renowned Nigerian performer Mista Xto has advocated for more funding for the music industry in Akwa Ibom State, not only for the art but also for employment and livelihood. 

This argument was made by Xto, whose real name is Christopher Esin, on Friday, February 28th, during his thank-you speech following his win of Entertainment Man of the Year at the inaugural Colloquium and Award event of Premium 89.9fm in Uyo.

"I just want to encourage those in Akwa Ibom who invest in people and the upcoming to also consider music because any time you see Mista Xto, there are people behind the scenes earning money as well, So this is an industry that should be taken seriously", he said. 

This statement agrees with the current reality as Nigeria's music industry is the biggest in Africa and Nigerian artists are among the most sought-after alongside American posters churning out chart-topping hits. 

Mista Xto, who runs South Central Records, is home to several successful home-grown musicians including Effiom Trombone, and Godfada Uko amongst many others.

His contribution to the Nigerian music industry has earned him over 740 awards and certificates of honor to his name.
