Ayra Starr revealed as Lead Character in the Hollywood Movie featuring Viola Davis and Idris Elba

Nigerian Afro Pop Singer, Ayra Starr, has been cast as the main character in the highly anticipated Hollywood version of Tomi Adeyemi's best-selling book "Children of Blood and Bone."

Cynthia Erivo, Viola Davis, Idris Elba, and other Hollywood all-stars are joined by the Mavin Records signee.

Lucasfilm, the studio behind the immensely successful Star Wars franchise, is creating the movie Children of Blood and Bone.

The film centers on a young woman's attempt to recover the magic that has been stolen from her people in an African fantasy realm.

Ayra Starr's participation in the project is an exciting turning point in her developing career, as she has already become the first Nigerian woman to receive an RIAA Diamond single certification. Production is presently underway, with a 2027 release date scheduled.

After selling more than 10 million copies in the US, Ayra Starr's "Santa" won her the coveted certification.

Note that in order to receive an RIAA Diamond certification, an African musician or someone who creates music outside of North and South America needs to sell more than 10 million copies of a song in the Latino market in America.
Furthermore, a combination of Spanish and English must have been used when singing the song.

Ayra Starr's RIAA-certified track, "Santa," which features Jamaican singer Tarik Johnston, also known as Rvssian, and Puerto Rican singer and rapper Rauw Alejandro, has Afrobeats and Reggaeton influences. Starr is 22 years old.

The words and lively music of the smash hit song "Santa" enthrall listeners.

The song was included on Ayra Starr's second album, "The Year I Turned 21," which was published in 2024. The album's success was equal to that of her debut collection, "Young and Dangerous."
