Former NFF presidential aspirant and international grassroots football advocate Anyanwu Marcello leads Yoshi Football Academy's Open Screening for Talented Players in Abuja.
Nigeria's newest football institute Yoshi Football Academy will begin open screening for talented players to fill various positions on 5th of October, 2024 at Accra street wuse zone 5 by 3pm.
According to the club CEO Ahmad Mustapha Geidam, Yoshi FA has two branches in the United Arab Emirates cities of Dubai & Sharjah with over 250 kids from 17 different nationalities.
Speaking ahead of the program, Ahmad says:
"We want to bring an international standard approach to grassroot football development to Abuja and Nigeria."

"We will build a formidable team that will compete with the top teams in the world from U5 - U18 categories."
On the opportunities for players who will be integrated into the team academy after the screening, the Yobe State born football manager says:
"Yoshi FA is ambitious with its goals and vision and has carefully planned and strategized to ensure maximum value for its players and clients. We have partners in Canada, Spain and the USA, and our primary objective is to create balance between football and education. We are determined to make an impact in the coming months and years not only in Nigeria but in Africa at large."
"We will identify, select and develop players and give them the opportunity to get student athlete scholarships in universities in the UK, USA, Spain and Canada. They will study the course of their choice and play for the university teams. We will also provide professional pathways for players to play in the Middle East, Spain and many more countries across the world."
With former Arsenal soccer school coach, Marcello Anyanwu in charge as the Sporting Director, the exercise is aimed at identifying young talents and giving them the right platform to excel both locally and internationally.
