The official release date for Tiwa Savage's eagerly awaited debut film, Water and Garri, has been revealed by the well-known Afrobeat phenomenon.
The film will be available to viewers in more than 240 countries for its exclusive Prime Video debut.
On Thursday, April 4, 2024, the multi-talented singer revealed the much-anticipated release date on social media. Prior to this, she had teased fans with news about her filmmaking endeavor. Savage revealed that Water and Garri will premiere on May 10, 2024, along with a promotional flyer that showed her with Mike Afolayan and Jemima Osunde, two Nollywood actors.
Savage shared her delight in an announcement post, referring to her fans as "My beautiful people" and asking them to set a reminder for the film's release date. "See you May 10th @primevideo," was how she captioned the photo, sparking a wave of excitement and support from her devoted fan following.
An extra special meaning for Savage, who is also the film's executive producer, is that the film is named after her popular EP, Water and Garri. With this project, she is taking a big step forward in her career by branching out into the film industry from music.
