"Ikot Ekpene Fashion Festival & Workshop" Kicks Off in a Grand Style

On Sunday 30th July 2023 Ikot Ekpene the Raffia witnessed the grand opening "Ikot Ekpene Fashion Festival & Workshop" put together by a Lagos based Fashion House Jenubs Signature.

The event which was held at the prestigious Sages Conclave Hotels had Industry Icons, Fashion Designers and Senior Government officials in attendance.

While giving his opening remark, the CEO of Jenubs Signature, Mr Ubong Umoh revealed the philosophy behind "Ikot Ekpene Fashion Festival & Workshop", added that the event is designed to sensitize fashion designers in the area.

He also said that the event is aimed at promoting and projecting Fashion designers that have made names for themselves from their designs and to equip them with "what's trending" in the industry.

Lastly he added that with the Workshop shop billed for Sunday.. and the speakers all scheduled for Keynote Addresses, participating Fashion designers have lots of opportunities to present their various brands to the global market.

Few Government officials who graced the grand opening was Ikot Ekpene Local Government Council Boss, Hon. Unyime Etim and the Vice Chairman of Ikono Local Government Area, Hon. Simeon Uyanga.

Hon. Unyime Etim while addressing the Fashion Designers; and in line with the "Arise Agenda" of Governor Umo Eno charged fashion designers in the area to upgrade in their crafts to stay up-to-date in the 21st Century's Global Market. 

He later told them to work as corporative in which the governor is about to build a hub for Designers to have access to materials to keep their work going. 

Notable Fashion designers who had their opinions and suggestions at the event was Mrs. Mikelyn Etti and Mrs Rose Daniel of "Rodan Fashion Academy".

Highpoint of the event was presentation of Award of Recognition to Outstanding and Notable Designers that have been in the system for the past Decade. 

According to the press statement jointly signed by the Director, Ubong Umoh and the Consultant, Inem Umoh, Sunday 13th August is billed for the Workshop by 5pm at Sages Conclave Hotel.
