Wakanda Forever: The Black Panther just made Nigerian history with the official premiere of the much-expected movie.

According to Deadline, the movie's Sunday debut in Lagos, the largest metropolis in the African nation, was the first local premiere for a Marvel movie.

The event was attended by the cast members of the movie, including Lupita Nyong'o, Danai Gurira, Winston Duke, Letitia Wright, Michaela Coel, and Tenoch Huerta, as well as the director/co-writer Ryan Coogler and producer Nate Moore.

Chioma Ude, the creator of the Africa International Film Festival (AFRIFF), stated in a statement that the festival's organizers "are pleased and proud to be a part of the premiere of this milestone film here in Africa."

Pictures from the occasion show the movie's cast posing both individually and collectively on the black carpet and interacting with a large number of ecstatic fans.

Black Panther: Wakanda Forever was screened on several screens at Filmhouse Cinemas IMAX Lekki in Lagos as part of the premiere.

Being involved in the distribution of Black Panther: Wakanda Forever in West Africa is a great accomplishment and a milestone for us and the entire FilmOne team, according to Moses Babatope and Kene Okwuosa, who formed FilmOne Entertainment.

It will be celebrated for a very long time, they continued.
