Following his departure from the All Progressives Congress (APC) over the party's same-faith presidential ticket, Nollywood star Kenneth Okonkwo has now joined the Labour Party (LP).
The actor urged for Nigerians to support Peter Obi, the presidential candidate for the Labour Party, in the election that will take place in 2019 when he announced this on his social media accounts on Wednesday.
The actor wrote a long Instagram
post in which he began, "It was an
honor and a privilege to be welcomed into the Labour Party on the 23rd of
August 2022 in the Supreme God House, Apo, Abuja, by the full executive of the
FCT Labour Party, representing the National Executive of the Party."
"I feel liked and treasured by the eminent authorities' visit to
our chambers, which concluded in my formally becoming a member of the Labour
Party.
"This will allow me to contribute in my own modest way to His Excellency, Peter Obi, becoming President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria in 2023 for the good government of our dear country which is so gifted by God but has been so battered by terrible leaders," the candidate said.
