Academic
operations in public universities across the nation have been suspended as a
result of the National Executive Council of the Academic Staff Union of
Universities' failure to halt the ongoing strike action.
In
addition, our correspondent discovered that despite assurances to the
president, Major General Muhammadu Buhari (retd), that the strike would be
ended, the union had not heard from the minister of education, Adamu Adamu.
"To

Adamu Adamu, the minister of education, was working around the clock to

ministry's spokeswoman.
"We
are unable to discuss our plans before submitting them to the president."

At

The

ASUU
has promised not to call off its strike as long as all of its demands are not
