In advance of their collaborative
EP REAL, Vol. 1, which is anticipated next week, Wizkid and Asake release the
surprise track "Jogodo," which was produced by Magicsticks.
"Jogodo," a new joint single by Wizkid and Asake, was released
without any prior public announcement.
The track is the lead single from their forthcoming joint EP, REAL, Vol. 1, a project the pair first confirmed in late 2025 during an Apple Music Radio takeover.
The unexpected release comes after weeks of conjecture regarding the two artists' whole joint endeavor. The official tracklist for REAL, Vol. 1 was released alongside the single, indicating that the EP will have four joint songs from the duo.
On January 23, 2026, REAL, Vol. 1 will be published. Streaming platforms also
offer the pre-save link.
Speaking about the latest release, Wizkid said that both musicians have a
similar musical vocabulary and that the collaboration was a natural process.
“Working
on this record with Asake
came naturally.” “We speak the same musical language.”
This release expands on Wizkid and Asake's already fruitful history of working together. Asake's 2024 album "Lungu Boy" featured their debut collaboration, "MMS," which went on to become one of the project's most notable tracks.
A major worldwide milestone for
both performers was reached when the song was nominated for Best African Music
Performance at the Grammy Awards. After
getting back together on "Bad Girl" off Wizkid's album
"Morayo," they collaborated with producer Sarz and Jamaican musician
Skillibeng on "Getting Paid," a song from Sarz's album "Protect
Sarz At All Costs."
