The Akwa Ibom State Commissioner for Information, Rt. Hon. Dr. Aniekan Umanah, has successfully earned a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) degree in Leadership and Strategic Studies from the Federal University Lokoja (Abuja Leadership Centre).
Dr. Umanah, who made the announcement shortly after completing his external defense earlier today, expressed profound gratitude to God, his family, and His Excellency Governor Umo Eno, for their unwavering support throughout his academic journey.
A former member of the House of Representatives for Abak/Etim Ekpo/Ika Federal Constituency, Dr. Umanah is a seasoned media practitioner and public servant. He has previously served as Commissioner for Information under former Governors Godswill Akpabio and Udom Emmanuel.
Before moving to public service, Dr. Umanah boasts an illustrious media career. He worked with leading media organizations including Newswatch magazine and Outlook Media. He founded Executive Options Media, a Lagos-based advertising agency; Co-founder and Executive Director of Millennium Choice Technologies, USA; President of African Media Network; and Founder/Chairman of Premium Media Group, owners of Premium 89.9 FM, Abak. He has also provided strategic media consultancy services for the Akwa Ibom State Government and various corporate institutions.
With this latest academic milestone, Dr. Umanah adds yet another feather to his cap as a leader and strategist, further strengthening his contributions to governance, media, and public service in Nigeria.
