Bauchi State Governor Bala
Mohammed has stated that the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) is contemplating
former President Goodluck Jonathan and Peter Obi for its presidential ticket in
the upcoming 2027 general elections.
During an interview on Politics Today (a Channels Television program), Mohammed
revealed this on Thursday while answering questions.
The head of the PDP Governors’ Forum stated that the party welcomes renowned politicians capable of influencing its presidential aspirations.
Upon being questioned about whether the PDP had reached out to Obi, the
governor of Bauchi replied, “Certainly, he’s among the most renowned
politicians as well. And naturally, you see him as part of the coalition.
“Definitely, we are not sleeping. Only that we
don’t make noise. There are so many politicians. I even had a session with
former Rivers State Governor Rotimi Amaechi. I have not been sleeping. I have
to make sure I do my homework to make sure people come in.
“These are some of the decisions that are left to Peter Obi. I have discussed with him, and I told him the PDP is open to all those celebrated politicians who can come and add value to our presidential drive or ambition.”
