Team Akwa Ibom caught the spotlight today Friday, 29 August 2025, as the 9th National Youth Games officially opened at the Stephen Keshi Stadium in Asaba, Delta State.
Clad in elegant white and orange kits, the young athletes from Akwa Ibom were the centre of attraction during the parade. Their colourful display, filled with dance and energy, lit up the electrifying atmosphere inside the stadium.
Team Akwa Ibom will participate in 27 sports events at the festival, competing alongside other states at the 2025 National Youth Games, which will run until 6 September 2025.
With events already underway, Team Akwa Ibom is aiming to fulfil the charge of Governor Pastor Umo Eno, who urged the athletes to go for gold and make the state proud.
