‎A'Ibom FA Chairman Receives Award from Nasarawa Governor for Grassroots Youth Football Development ‎


‎Chairman of the Akwa Ibom State Football Association, Mr Samuel Umoh, has been honoured by the Nasarawa State Government for his remarkable contribution to grassroots and youth football development.
‎The award was presented to him on Friday by the Executive Governor of Nasarawa State, His Excellency Abdullahi Sule, during the final of the 2025 Gusau/Ahlan Preseason Tournament in Lafia. Governor Sule made the presentation in the presence of Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) President, Alhaji Ibrahim Gusau, and NFF 2nd Vice President and Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) Chairman, Honourable Gbenga Elegbeleye.
‎Mr Umoh, who was elected Akwa Ibom FA Chairman in 2024, has quickly earned praise across the football community for his leadership and commitment to grassroots development. His latest honour adds to a growing list of recognition from within and outside Akwa Ibom State.
‎The Gusau/Ahlan final, which saw Kano Pillars crowned champions, was attended by some of Nigeria’s foremost football administrators, including Alhaji Shehu Ahlan Inuwa (NFF Board Member and Head, NFF Technical Committee), Babagana Kalli (NFF Board Member and Chairman, Match Commissioners Committee), Davidson Owumi (C.O.O, NPFL), Hon. Silas Agara (NLO Chairman and NFF Board Member), and Barr. Isaac Danladi (Commissioner for Justice, Nasarawa State).
