To promote livestock growth and resolve herder-farmer conflicts, the Federal Government of Nigeria has announced intentions to set up cow breeding facilities in each of the country's six geopolitical zones.
Dr. Aliyu Sabi Abdullahi, Minister of State for Agriculture, made the
announcement on the second day of the Sir Ahmadu Bello Foundation's
Citizens'-Government Engagement and Midterm Review of the Tinubu
Administration, which took place in Kaduna on July 29, 2025.
In his remarks,
Abdullahi underlined that in order to fulfill the objectives of President Bola
Tinubu's Renewed Hope Agenda, cooperation between the Ministries of
Agriculture, Environment, Water Resources, Livestock Development, and the Blue
Economy is essential.
"Ensuring food security and achieving sustainable agricultural growth
depend heavily on this synergy," he said.
Modernizing livestock production, expanding economic opportunities, and
fostering harmony in rural communities are the goals of the proposed breeding
centers.
