"I’m Innocent!” – Nollywood Actress Infinity Ebere Ohakwe Cries Out From EFCC Detention, Says She Was Silenced Over Love Drama

 

 Popular Nollywood filmmaker and actress Infinity Ebere Ohakwe has cried out from EFCC custody in Benin City, claiming she's been locked up for over 3 weeks without proper explanation.

In a handwritten note that’s now going viral, Ohakwe opened up about her painful experience — saying she was never invited, never warned, and still doesn’t know why she’s being held.

“I no thief. I no do fraud. This no be boyfriend matter ooo,” she wrote.

“They didn’t call me. They didn’t invite me. They just arrested me at the bank.”

According to her, she was in Asaba to attend a burial in Onitsha when she was picked up at Access Bank, just after traveling from Abuja. She believes the EFCC chose not to arrest her at the actual event because Nollywood stars would have spoken out.

“They knew if they arrested me in front of Nollywood people, wahala go burst,” she said.

Ohakwe, who’s behind movies like When Love Hurts and Olaedo, also claimed she was forced to change her statement, saying the EFCC made her remove anything about love or relationships.

“They’re hiding the real reason they arrested me. It has to do with a guy I was dating. I’ll talk when I’m out.”

She’s currently in what she calls a “dirty, unhealthy cell” and says she can’t even access money to get a lawyer.

As of now, EFCC has not responded to the allegations. But the actress is begging Nigerians, the media, and Nollywood to raise their voices.

“Please speak for me. I’ll tell the world everything when I’m out.”
