The National PDP Professional Business Group (NPPGB) has unveiled plans to host 2024/2025 quiz competition for public secondary schools in Akwa Ibom State.
Speaking at a press briefing and official unveiling on Monday in Uyo, the state coordinator, Mr Mfon Sunshine added that inline with the "A.R.I.S.E" agenda of the Governor; Pastor Umo Eno, the competition is aimed at restoring the image of secondary schools in Akwa Ibom State as well as promoting educational standard of the public secondary schools.
He also added that before now forms has been sent to the 250 public secondary schools that will partake in the quiz competition and they were all screened based on facilities available in each of the schools which was part of the criteria in the selection.
While acknowledging partners and sponsors, Mr. Sunshine added that the publisher of "Ekong Nke" has promised exercise books for participating schools, he also said that The Teen Nigeria as a pageant brand has also promised female participants in the competition to represent Akwa Ibom in the next edition of their pageant event and other partners too numerous to mention.
The competition according to the state organizers secretary; Mr Enobong Ekefre will kick off on 22nd January 2025 with the elimination stage at the local government level where winners will proceed to the next stage at the Senatorial Districts and then move to the national level where the overall winner will be emerged.
After the press briefing, was the official unveiling of "National PDP Professional Business Group (NPPGB) Quiz Competition 2024/2025" by the state coordinator, organizing secretary and other members of the body.
Also at the unveiling was other members of the National PDP Professional Business Group (NPPGB), Akwa Ibom State Chapter, The Nigerian Teen World (2024) and members of the press who represented various media houses.
Highpoints of the event was a photo session as the press briefing was drawn to a close with a closing prayer.
