Akwa Ibom Set to Host the World at Ibom Christmas Unplugged 2023


The Honorable Commissioner for Culture and Tourism, Akwa Ibom State, Sir Charles Udoh, has expressed the state's readiness to host the world at Ibom Christmas Unplugged kicking-off on Friday, December 1, 2023.


The event which is part of Governor Umo Eno's comprehensive tourism agenda, ARISE Agenda, aims to drive the tourism industry to new heights. 


Speaking while assessing last minute preparations for the event on Thursday, the Commissioner said that Ibom Christmas Unplugged will showcase Akwa Ibom's rich cultural heritage and attract global attention to the state's tourism potentials.

He noted that the event promises a 32-day festive fiesta featuring a daily mix of back-to-back musical events, drama, comedy, games, cultural displays, talent shows, outdoor catering, and lounging.


The Commissioner also said that the award-winning Akwa Ibom Christmas Carols Festival will hold at Ibom Christmas Park with homegrown gospel acts taking center stage at the event. 



The rebranded Ibom Christmas Village, now Ibom Christmas Park, will play host to both traditional and contemporary Christmas settings catering to the diverse audience.


Ibom Christmas Unplugged will also provide exceptional brand visibility, networking opportunities, and the chance for corporate bodies to showcase their commitments to corporate social responsibility.


According to the Commissioner, the Akwa Ibom State Government is dedicated to developing the entertainment industry in the state and providing a memorable December-to-Remember experience for all.


With this epoch-making event, Akwa Ibom State Government is poised to positioning itself as a choice destination for global tourism.
