Face of Valentine Pageant (FOV) | All You Need to Know

“Face Of Valentine Pageant” is an annual event organized by an Indigenous Entertainment outfit; Xsquad Entertainment; registered under Cooperate Affairs Commission of the Federal Republic of Nigeria with the aim to promote Girl Child Education in Akwa Ibom State and Nigeria at Large.

The event is also designed to promote the Campaign against all social vices such as; Sexual Harassment, Child Abuse, Gender-Based Violence, and lots more.

“Face Of Valentine Pageant” is also aimed at giving the girl child a voice in the society while encouraging them to become role models and Love Ambassadors.

The maiden edition of the contest was held in 2016 at the prestigious Diamolene Luxury Hotel, Ikot Ekpene where Queen Vivian Richard, a native of Ibesikpo Asutan, the then Akwa Ibom State Polytechnic Student of Science Laboratory Technology Department emerged the Winner.

The Contest which is designed for the development of the Girl Child is opened to all Nigerian Girls between the ages of 18 to 28 years old.

Aims and Objectives of the Event

The aims and objectives of Face of Valentine Pageant are as follows: 

To Promote the Campaign against Sexual Harassment, Child Abuse, Gender-Based Violence, and lots more.

To provide a Supportive environment that educates, develops, and inspires the Girl Child and prepare them for future realities.

To give the girl child a voice in the society as they become role models and Girl Child Ambassadors. 

Benefits to Stakeholders, Donors and other Contributions 

Face of Valentine Pageant announces stakeholders of the event as one of the proud sponsor. 

The event advertises the products and sponsors' services as their logos are always included in all our publicity materials (Fliers, Flex banners, Posters and Billboards). 

Finally, the contest creates a platform where representatives from partners and sponsors talks about their products and services to the audience in a bid to advertise their businesses.

Face of Valentine Queens from Inception till Date

Queen Vivien Bassey Richard, the then Science Lab Tech student of Akwa Ibom State Polytechnic is the Pioneer Face of Valentine in the Year 2016, followed by Queen Dorathy Akpan (my humble self) in 2017, Queen Gift Nkang emerged as Face of Valentine 2018, followed by Queen Esther Akpata, then student of Akwa Ibom State University as Face of Valentine 2019, then followed by Queen Baridilo Gbarade, then Student of Ritman University as Face of Valentine 2020.

The pageant saw limelight as a Cameroon based Akwaibomite, Queen Charity Edet became Face of Valentine 2021.

It may interest you all to know that we are all gathered here today for Queen Victory Akpan, Student of University of Uyo who is the current Face of Valentine 2022/2023, the host of Girl Child Conference 2023.

Previous Projects

The Pioneer Queen, Vivian Richard; when emerged “Face of Valentine 2016”, while celebrating her 100 days in office took to the street with her “Love Outreach”, feeding 200 homeless street children.

Queen Dorathy Akpan (Face of Valentine 2017), whose emergence came as a surprise to the massive crowd embarked on School campaign with the distribution of Free Exercise books to school students.

 In 2018, the organization, led my Queen Gift Nkang (Face of Valentine 2018) embarked on school sensitization project to enlighten and educate female students on how to take care of themselves (personal hygiene) and how to impact the society positively.

Also, in 2019, Queen Esther Akpata with the assistant of her fellow Queen, Blessed John, organized a Girl Child seminar which had secondary schools students within Ikot Ekpene and environs in attendance as they got home with lots of relief materials too numerous to mention.

In the same vein, Queen Baridilo Gbarade during her reign, took the center stage with her 3-weeks Skill Acquisition programme that had 50 female youths trained in various trades; Liquid Soap Making, Make- Up/Gele Tying, Ankara Design, Sanitizer, Detergent etc.

Queen Charity Edet when assumed office in 2021, became the first Beauty Queen in the Organization to distribute Malaria Relief malarial to rural dwellers in Utu Edem Usung, Ikot Ekpene in commemoration of World Malaria day 2021.

In the same spirit, Queen Victory Akpan, few days after resuming office in 2022, joined the Councilor, Ikot Ekpene Urban Ward 4, Hon. Iberedem Isonguyo in distributing Educational Materials, School Bags, Writing Pen, and Exercise Books to Primary schools in his Community.

It’s also our pleasure to say that “Girl Child Conference 2023” was a Project of Queen Victory Akpan (Face of Valentine 2022/2023), geared toward Girl Child Development which is also in line with the vision of the Brand which had senior citizens in Ikot Ekpene, Female Student Leaders as well as CEO of companies all in attendance.

On 27th May 2023, Queen Victory Akpan joined Miss Obot Akara, Queen Andifon Umoh to celebrate Children’s Day in the Area as they present relief materials to pregnant women at General Health Care Center, Nto Edino, Obot Akara Local Government Area, Akwa Ibom State.

The “Girl Child Conference 2023” which was later followed by a 6 Week Free Skills Training Acquisition Program in Liquid Soap Production, Make Up/Gele Tying, Cake Baking/Snacks Production recorded huge success as over 20 Trainees graduated from the program.

2. To provide a Supportive environment that educates, develops, and inspires the Girl Child.

3. To Assist the Girl Child through Educational programs, working in partnership with individuals, NGOs and Institutions around the World to end Poverty and social issues such as Child Labour, Child trafficking, Sexual harassment and rape.
