Uyo International Film Festival 2022 holds this October

Uyo, capital of Akwa Ibom state, refered to as Nigeria's best kept secret will open her doors to host the 5th edition of Uyo International Theatre And Film Festival.

The annual Uyo International Theatre And Film Festival (UTAFF) was conceived by the progenitor, Mr Victor Thompson (FTA) as a forum for amplification of the symbiosis between African film and theatre. The Festival is designated to draw global attention and propagate sustainable developmental structures for indigenous performance culture; with special stress on Nollywood and Afro-theatre.

UTAFF prides itself as the first ever joint theatre and film festival in Africa's most populous black nation - Nigeria. The Festival aims at becoming a premier site for increasing development in indigenous creative arts, media, culture and tourism. Interestingly, the Festival is strategically created to celebrate the prevalent influences of multifaceted African artistic spirit.

In every edition, quality live theatre and cinema is  showcased, industry interactions are facilitated and awards presented to well deserving keyplayers.

The organizers are committed to raising future African film and theatre makers that will register commendable stir in the global performance space. UTAFF traditionally host film and theatre practitioners, media and IT professionals, the academia, students as well tourists and members of the corporate space.

The industry stakeholders from across the state, country and continent are expected for the 2022 edition, which is slated for October 7 & 8 at the Silverbird Cinema, Ibom Tropicana, Uyo. The Festival is proudly endorsed by the Akwa Ibom State Government and notable institutions including Nigerian Film Festivals Association, Nigerian Film Corporation and Federation of Tourism Associations of Nigeria (FTAN).
