Commonwealth Games 2022: Team Nigeria wins Bronze in Weightlifting

 

The second medal for Team Nigeria at the Birmingham 2022 Commonwealth Games has been earned by Edidiong Umofia.

Umofia achieved Bronze in the weightlifting competition.

Umoafia placed third in the men's 67kg division by snatching, cleaning, and jerking a total of 290 kg.

Jeremy Lalrinnunga of India won the event's gold medal.

Nigeria's first medal in the Games was earned on Saturday by Adijat Olarinoye.

She earned the weightlifting competition's gold medal.

Team Nigeria beat Malaysia 3-2 in a tense match to advance to the semifinals of the men's table tennis competition.
