Get your PVC; the Holy Spirit does not vote. — Cubana Chief-Priest

Reactions to the statement made by Catholic priest Rev. father Ejike Mbaka labeling presidential contender Peter Obi as stingy have persisted.

Mbaka had said that Obi cannot become president of Nigeria unless he repents and asks forgiveness from God at his most recent sermon at the Adoration ministry in Enugu State.

He asserted that a'stingy man' is preferable to an aged man as the next president of Nigeria.

In response to Mbaka's statement, well-known Instagram personality Pascal Okechukwu, also known as Cubana Chiefpriest, advised Nigerians to obtain their PVCs and said that the Holy Spirit does not cast ballots.

On his Instagram page, Cubana posted a photo of Father Mbaka and the caption, "Mr. Money with the vibes right now. Don't sleep, get up, and grab your cash.

Please cast your ballot; the Holy Spirit did not vote.

The Catholic Church, however, has distanced itself from Mbaka's political remarks.

In a statement released on Thursday, the Auxiliary Bishop of Enugu, Rev. Ernest Obodo, claimed that Mbaka's divisive political remarks violated the Canon Law, which forbids anybody from improperly damaging someone's reputation.
